New baby

Arianne gave birth to a 8lb 3oz bouncing baby girl at 3:28 pm. It was Anna and Martin's 5th anniversary. She is to be called Nori and her full name is Normandie Jeanne. It is also the day before D-day (the invasion at Normandy during WWII) There is no connection. Kevin and Ari didn't even know until the day she was born but it's an interesting bit of trivia. I am taking care of Ele and am really tired. It seems that grandmothering is harder than I think sometimes. Mostly I'm just old and fat. Makes it harder to get around. Ari did a great job during labor and delivery and I was so lucky to be able to be there. Kev did OK too. I don't know where they get the idea these guys pass out when they see births of their children. I've witnessed 6 dads do just fine! Kurt, Kev, Martin, Chris, Pickle and Brian.

New York

It's New York City!! Ari and Kevin are working in NYC this summer and so I, meaning Mom, came out to visit for a few days. My first visit to the big Apple and it has been so fun. I've only been here one day but I've been to the top of the Empire State Building, visited Central Park found the right subway and train at least twice. [I ask people even if Ari says its a general rule that you don't talk to people on the train] People are so nice and they are very helpful too. We could still be stuck in the City if I hadn't asked.

Wow, the #1 grandbaby is growing up. She is so beautiful in her blue (Ari called it periwinkle) gown. GG thinks it could use some strapsthough.

She wrote me that they started out with breakfast and had an all day date with a ride to the dance in a limo. Her friend is Kaylee and her date's name is Cody. He's cute and Ali looks just georgeous!!
